To raise awareness amongst Yorkshire Water customers of the problems associated with the disposal of cooking fat, grease etc by pouring them down the sink.To provide a clean and convenient alternative to the above.
Campaign
20,000 Yorkshire Water branded Fat Traps ® to give out to the public to take home and use
A major 'road show' was undertaken. Fat Traps ® were distributed together with supporting literature, staff were on hand to explain in more detail the issues associated with fat disposal.What We Did ....
South West Water is giving fat traps ® away to many of its customers in order to help promote the message that fat, oil and grease should be kept out of drains and sewers to:
- Prevent blockages and sewer flooding.
- Protect the environment.
- Avoid costly clean up costs and distress.
- Ensure that drainage systems are used responsibly.
The Company has purchased 6,000 branded fat traps ® and is offering one to everybody that attends any of the dozens of talks it provides to various community organisations throughout the year.
They may also be available at certain promotional events such as County Shows .South West Water is also promoting the fat trap ® through the use of posters and leaflets.
Anglian Water purchased 20,000 fat traps ® to give away to their customers, Working with Less Mess, they developed an added extra for the fat trap ®.
